Recommended activities for a perfect day in the Luberon

The Luberon, in the heart of Provence, is a destination rich in history, culture and picturesque landscapes. Whether you're a lover of nature, gastronomy or history, this region has something for everyone!

To start your day, we recommend a visit to Nicoline, an ice-cream and pastry shop in Maubec. Grab a pastry and a coffee, and enjoy breakfast on the terrace!

Our tip : the croissants are excellent !

Then continue on to discover the Sentier des Ocres de Roussillon !

Discover a spectacular and unique landscape of red-orange cliffs ! You can choose between a half-hour and an hour-long walk. The walk starts at 9 a.m. for the most courageous!

Then we suggest you stop off at the Cave des Lumières to discover wines from the region in all three colors: rosés, whites and reds! You'll find two different appellations: AOP Ventoux and AOP Luberon. Enough to find what you're looking for and leave with a few souvenirs in a bottle!

Now it's time for lunch !

A few minutes' drive and you'll arrive at La Terrasse in Goult for a succulent lunch on the terrace. Wonderful dishes, both sophisticated and succulent! We strongly advise you to book in advance !

For the afternoon, start with a short digestive walk through Goult, one of the most beautiful villages in the Luberon. You can climb up to the mill, passing through the pretty little streets typical of perched villages ! Once you've reached the top, you'll have a magnificent view over the plain and the Luberon !

Next, we recommend a visit to one of the region's best-known sites : the Gouffre de Fontaine de Vaucluse. This is one of Europe's largest resurgences, gushing out at the foot of a 230-metre-high cliff. Fed by a vast underground network, this natural site is a must-see !

After your eye-popping stroll, why not take an ice cream break at Freto ?

On a lovely terrace overlooking the Sorgue, you can sample Freto's ice creams and sorbets, and enjoy a varied menu with original tastes, all served by friendly staff. And good news for gourmets : you can add coulis and toppings !

L'Isle sur la Sorgue is well known as the village of antique dealers. You can stroll through the streets, relax by the Sorgue and visit these famous antique shops, and leave with some of the nuggets you've unearthed !

For dinner, we offer two options :

  • A Michelin-starred dinner at Le Vivier (Isle sur la Sorgue) : fine, creative cuisine and an exceptional wine list ! With its terrace on the banks of the Sorgue and a team of passionate professionals, you're sure to have a memorable time !

  • A dinner on the banks of the Sorgue at Monsieur Tu : a hidden gem in l'Isle sur la Sorgue! Open for 2 years, you'll enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere. This bistronomic restaurant regularly renews its menu to showcase local, seasonal produce !
